DEPTH
Unlike other scarifiers the versatile GRADEN can easily be adjusted to perform mid-season
dethatching to an aggressive scarifier that can effortlessly reach depths of 1 3/4" (45mm) removing thatch from areas other scarifiers simply can't reach. Whatever depth is required, a clean and consistent finish is always the end result, causing minimal disruption to play.
Some greenkeepers have found that by using the GRADEN at depth, they can scarify like no other machine can while eliminating some of their normal aeration practices.
The GRADEN cuts cleanly through all ground conditions, whether it is wet or very hard compacted ground, it glides over the surface cutting through whatever lies in its path.
AERATION
As well as scarifying, with having the ability to go to such depths the GRADEN also acts as a surface aerator. Trials conducted in the USA have shown that more air movement is created using the GRADEN than normal hollow coring. Water exchange is also improved in the surface by allowing the water to penetrate through the channels in the thatch layer created by the GRADEN. Having the ability to use different thicknesses of blades determines how much material is to be removed but also creates different widths of incisions which allows fresh top dressing to be integrated into the surface - this will assist with aeration but also helps to firm the surface.
